Date inserted as September 23, 11 in MS Word

The auto insert date feature in MS Word keeps inserting the date as (ex.) September 23, 11. I have searched as many places as I can think of but haven't been able to figure out how to get it to use the 4 digit date. Does anyone know how to do this? I have been playing around with this for a little over an hour and it is driving me crazy.

MS Office 11
OS 10.7.1
