its a problem in SFO (San Francisco Airport) as well.

Security/airline personnel/TSA agents steal iPhones/iPads. WATCH OUT
 
GREED = Every criminal's downfall.

They could have just took one or two every couple of months and probably would have never been caught. But these idiots obvious thought they could become an Unofficial Apple Resellers and get rich.
 
So each faces 61 counts of theft and a potential 5 year prison for each count? That's 610 years (305 years each) for $180,000 in theft.
 
Theft of mail, or even possession of stolen mail, is a Federal Felony and upon conviction each offense may be punishable by a fine up to $250,000 and imprisonment up to five years. (Title 18, United States Code, Section 1708)


That's why it's up to 5 years per count. The cost of the items doesn't really matter.
