Blank iBook Replacement Keyboard

Do they sell iBook replacement keys (ones that I could just snap in)? Do they sell them without markings/letters/symbols?

You can always find iBook keys on eBay. They sell them with letters already one them. They priced about $2-6.

I think he *wants* blank ones....it would be really interesting / fun, if one had good caligraphy skills, to do the keys over in a silver marker or something with metal flake / glitter effect. :)

I think plain white would look the best.

I wish I was good at typing then I would do this. :(

Yep, just plain blank keys across the whole keyboard :)

Two reasons:

1) Looks insanely cool/slick
2) Phenomenally increases your ability to type

That would be pretty neat. Something else that might be sweet, but might take a lot of work, would be to paint all the keys in opaque paint in some contrasting color, right over the markings. Then you'd not only have a blank keyboard, but it would complement the white nicely. :) But white on white is always a classic. ;)

@jet: I read about those on Engadget (http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000577031787/), pretty awesome. I was just wondering if there was similar for my iBook

@puckhead: I was actually considering this, I imagine it would be easy to scratch off the markings with a razorish tool. This raises other questions:

Say I want to revert back, are the eBay replacements the same quality as my original?

If no, then would I be able to scratch off the lettering on an eBay replacement, and keep my originals as backup?

And another question that would be useful...are iBook G3 (the ones that similar to G4s) keyboards compatible with G4s, and do the 12" and 14" use the same part? There seems to be a wide range of prices on full replacement keyboards on eBay, with the G3 or unspecified ones seemingly quite a bit cheaper....

I dont think they are compatible, something to do with the cable more than nything. On the G4 i think the trakpad and keyboard cables are combined.
