Hi all,

Does anyone know if there any any benchmark figures for the new 13" Air? I'm thinking of getting one to replace a 13" MBP and am curious if it's worth spending the extra on the i7 CPU.

It's either the Air or a 15" MBP...decisions, decisions.

Thanks in advance.

This is the best analysis I have seen.

In general, on the 13" version, the i7 upgrade isn't as worthwhile as on the 11".

Not the most comprehensive figures on benchmarking but without doubt the most interesting take on the value of performance I've seen in a long time.

Another set of benchmarks

I went with the i7 and while I'm happy enough with the MBA's performance that I'm ditching my 2009 2.53 MBP, if I had it to do over again I'd probably just go with the i5.

Huh, that statement doesn't make sense. The i7 should be the same regardless of screen size?

if you spent some time actually reading the article he linked to you would notice performance is up 22% over the base 11" and only 8-11% improvement in the 13" model. which would be hard to notice in anything except for benchmarks.

Right, but the i5 in the 13 is more powerful than in the 11.
