if it's a 117D (look in your system profiler) you can flash it to a 108 (16x, dual layer capable, and the instructions give you region free firmware)

lol thanks, i thought about adding something to it, but decided i'd just keep it the way it was when it was printed. it really struck me as odd to see that in a comic strip that's normally just funny without anything like that...

Does that article mean DVR-107D, or is it really a DVR-117D? I am just wondering because i have a 107D. I am intrested because a month after i bought my 107D drive, Pioneer released their DVR-108 drive which supports Dual layer burning.

Anyway my guess is that its not possible, right?
