Linear mode

Is there a way to keep my thread view in Linear (oldest first) mode? I have it set that way in my profile, but each time I visit the site and go to a thread with new message, it displays in hybrid mode. I set it to linear and it stays that way while I am on the site for the current session. As soon as I visit again, though, I get hybrid mode again. :confused:

At the top of the thread, there's a load of links with names like "Thread tools", "Search", etc, etc. Click the one called "Display Modes" and this should give you a little pop-up menu (or, if you're using IE5.x, it'll take you down to the bottom of the page). There, you can change the display mode.
