Sandisk Mini 256MB hates keyboard on 10.4

Yo!
I've just bought a Sandisk Mini 256MB. For some reason it doesn't work in
the keyboard ports on my iMac. Works fine in the back though.
I wouldn't have thought it needed that much power! I have a notebook light
that works in the keyboard and a bluetooth module! What's going on?
My flatmate's Disgo works fine...a bit bloody irritating.

If it is a USB 2.0 module, then your keyboard doen't supply enough power for it to run.

I would suggest purchasing a cheap USB 2.0 hub (maybe with external P/S) and put it near your KB and use it for all your 2.0 Devices.

Ahhh, that'll be why then. Are the newer Apple keyboards USB 2.0 or 1.0? I guess 1.0. Also, I read something a few weeks back on Intel's upcoming wireless USB...any chance of something similar being adopted by Apple? I'm sure I've heard something about wireless firewire but would it be suitable for
low power devices such as keyboards and mice?

Most Keyboards, including Apple's are USB1.1, to prevent there from being any problems. You could get $20 hub to allow you to plug in USB 2.0 into the front.

Wireless USB may be nice, but We'll wait to see.

Wireless USB would still have the same power problems... each device will need SOME source of power, which would still leave you with the same (or worse) problem that you have now
