On my 11" Air, on one desktop I have Thunderbird open and it takes up the whole desktop. But behind it, I have one Chrome window open too. When I activate Mission Control, if Thunderbird is the top window, "Expose" moves Thunderbird upward and Chrome downward. Thunderbird covers the other desktops making it impossible to pick another desktop.
The fix, other than using a gesture to move left or right, is to select the Chrome window, leave Mission Control, then go back in. Now it arranges them side by side. Isn't this weird?
I haven't tried it on my 17" yet; I'll have to do that tonight.
