double layer burners

obviously, apple has changed over to the new double layer burners on the recent upgrades (powermac, emac, and imac).

should we expect to see a double layer burner on portables such as the powerbook or ibook soon?

in a word, no.

i say this because the powerbook has just been updated, and there was no dual-layer burner on that. the ibook will never get an update before the powerbook - that means you have the wait till the next pb revision before we see dual layer burners.

apple has been a bit slow on the take-up of dual-layer tech, so it could be a fair way off before pb's get them.
