iMac G5 modem??

Are there any pro's in choosing to remove the modem from the new iMac G5? I find this to be an odd option that can only be found on the apple education store!!

Could removing it mean more air circulation = cooler?

1) Could save money, not much if any but it would

2)

If its in education they might want to ensure that all internet traffic goes through an Airport Base Station or ethernet cable

It might simply not be necessary
 
does anyone really still use dial-up.....

Although it might be a safty issue that somes schools brought up to apple. What it could be 😕
