Can I add a line with a pre-order?

Curious to know in a few hours (if the system doesn't crash like last year) can I add a line on the att website and pre-order the phone at the same time?

Or would I have to chance my luck come fri or the weekend and go in store?

Havnt preordered online before. I was planning on going through Apple.com, can I add a line through there website or do I have to go through AT&T?

I was told (by apple) that this can't be done on THEIR website...But I know for sure on AT&Ts site it can
