I just bought an original iPod (10GB) for $5 at a swap meet.

What I want to know is if I'd be able to sync it with my Mac Mini if I got a 6 PIN FireWire converter to USB 2.0?

Otherwise what are my options? I think I have a PC tower somewhere with a 6 pin firewire card...

Those can only sync via FireWire. You'd need a 9 to 6 pin if you have a newer Mini. There are no such things as FireWire to USB adapter/converters.

If your mac has a firewire 400 port, you could use a 6 pin to 6 pin firewire cable.
