I'm obsessed with the new SW movie. I like playing games, and I have lost touch with the SW gaming scene.

Any suggestions?

urm, Star wars republic commando was alright (xbox), Knights of the old republic 1 and 2 are superb games (xbox) jedi knight 3 : revenge of the sith is also good (xbox)

all top games, i think all the other star wars games (not these) are a bad use of a realy good licence, the ones on the GC were alright ;)

http://www.macgamestore.com has Jedi Knight 2: Outcast and Jedi Academy. Both rule. True lightsaber and storm trooper choking action all the time.

The old Atari game with the vector graphics always does it for me.

The more recent ones I've liked were the Rogue Squadron games. I can't say too much about the Jedi Knight ones, though. Only played the demo.

Anyone remember the NES and SNES versions of episodes 4,5,6? Man those were bad....

cool. I hope it will run on 10.2.8, but I have a feeling it will be resource-hungry..

You could always get the mod of BF 1942 I think it is Star wars battle front

I would have to say that as far as space combat goes, Rouge Squadron 2: Rougue Leader gets my vote, but as far as a FPS or Lightsaber combat game goes, I would say Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast. I never played Jedi Academy, but it looked decent continuation of the line. As with all Star Wars games focusing on lightsaber combat, Jedi Outcast is best played with mods and original skins.

I was always partial to Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight. I played it on PC in the late 90s. It did a better job than the prequels (so far) of putting you in a Star Wars world, and it had a vast amount of John Williams music (mostly from the Emprire Strikes Back). The graphics were unbelievable at the time, and were on par with Quake II. A google search shows that Aspyr ported JKII; I can't say for sure that DFII:JK (the game before JKII) was ported to mac.

If you are looking for mods and skins for the Dark Forces line, I recommend you check out the database at http://www.massassi.net/

I'll second that one. I spent many, many, many hours of my life playing that game back in the mid '90s. Still couldn't get the hang of shooting down those pesky A-wings though.

And I think I was one of maybe 5 people who actually liked Star Wars: Rebellion.

I love Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. I just played it through for a second time... I LOVE using force powers and lightsabers!

I love Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. I just played it through for a second time... I LOVE using force powers and lightsabers!I don't know if it was in Academy, but there was a command in Jedi Outcast where you can scale up the number of cut of limbs, torso parts, etc. that can be diced up on stormtroopers and other enemies with your lightsaber. I think one of the most fun experiences was force choking the enemies, then charging them with something like Lightsaber Throw and seeing how many pieces you could make ;)

I've never played KoTOR, so I was wondering how well are the force powers and lighsaber techniques developed in it?

Episode 1 Racer for the N64
Jedi Power Battles on the Dreamcast (the PS version was a joke)

Another vote for KOTOR. I haven't played it on a Mac because the video card in my PowerMac sucks compared to the one in my PC, but the PC version is a bit buggy. It's a fun game though.

Episode III for the PS2/Xbox. That was real fun, espically the extra "ending" they threw in. ;)

I agree with this too. Any of the Star Wars 'space combat simulators' X-Wing/TIE Fighter/XvsTIE/X-wing Alliance were definitely the best and most absorbing. I wish that these would make it to the Mac or that LucasArts make a new one.

Can't remember which i loved better, flying alongside Darth in my TIE Defender in TIE Fighter or on a bombing mission in a b-wing against the SSD!! Awesome fun. :) :D

The first two did make it to the Mac (and had 640x480 graphics compared to 320x240 on the PC). However, they don't work under Classic.

I just noticed that they've released Star Wars Ep3 Revenge of the Sith on DS. Has anyone played this yet? Not sure I want to put down $40 for it until I have heard the reviews.
