M MacVault macrumors 65816 Original poster May 5, 2005 #1 I just watched the CNBC video on Apple's site, saved to disk, opened in Quicktime and looked at the movie info and it says it's in 3ivx codec. WTF? Why wouldn't Apple post this in H.264? Or does 3ivx really mean H.264????

Lacero macrumors 604 May 5, 2005 #2 It's MPEG4. It just shows up as 3vix because that's what's being used to decode the video.
ravenvii macrumors 604 May 5, 2005 #3 All those video codecs is just annoying and silly. DivX, XviD, 3ivX, and every letter of the alphabet coupled with a -ivX. 🙄

Correction: I still have 3ivx, DivX, and Xvid codecs installed. Still the CNBC report indicates that it is H.264.
