No. Between 12-1 est. You can download the gm if you would like.

That would be very un-apple. It's usually a 10am-ish type thing

people who have iPhone 4S's on youtube confirm that the actual build of iOS 5 is the same as the GM build... that's odd

Not quite accurate, since the iPhone 4S version is gonna be a bit different from any of the builds we got on the dev site, but the GM is always exactly the same as the official release versions

Is the update coming "over-the-air" or do you have to plug it into iTunes like the days of yore?

I Believe if your on beta, you have to install over iTunes. All updates from then is OTA.

If you have the GM though, there is no reason to update whatsoever

I usually just do it for the heck of it...I'm kind of OCD about about my software updates. I went through a period of using backups, but then I just stopped. I like starting off fresh. Lets me know the phone is running in tip top shape. I do have iOS 5 GM by the way...

The only difference is in the file name. It is literally a waste of time

You'll have to plug it into iTunes but this is the last time. Upgrading from iOS 5 can then be done OTA.

The release version is the same as the GM, you'll have to wait for 5.1 for any chance of the bugs being fixed.

If you have an iPhone already, goto the clock app and add "cupertino" to the list of world clocks.

Last time was 18:00 in UK, one would assume this is to allow for a full staffing in Apple Towers during the initial release period

exactly my reasoning, too.
