people who have iPhone 4S's on youtube confirm that the actual build of iOS 5 is the same as the GM build... that's odd

Not quite accurate, since the iPhone 4S version is gonna be a bit different from any of the builds we got on the dev site, but the GM is always exactly the same as the official release versions

Is the update coming "over-the-air" or do you have to plug it into iTunes like the days of yore?

If you have the GM though, there is no reason to update whatsoever

I usually just do it for the heck of it...I'm kind of OCD about about my software updates. I went through a period of using backups, but then I just stopped. I like starting off fresh. Lets me know the phone is running in tip top shape. I do have iOS 5 GM by the way...

The only difference is in the file name. It is literally a waste of time

getting iPhone 4s on friday but trying to get iOS 5 on iPad right now but its not out???????? its 8:35pm in Australia
