After installing Quicktime 7 into OSX 10.3.9 both iTunes and Quicktime player refuse to open?? Any ideas?

Have you repaired permissions

Yes ..... no change. Another Colleague of mine is having exactly the same problem. Could it be possible that QT7 and OSX 10.3.9 are not compatable? I installed QT7 as per software update?
