Just kind of curious, does iTunes need to be open to sync to my iPhone via wi-fi or can I just quit iTunes and it'll somehow finish the sync without it (possibly via the hidden iTunes Helper service?)

I have only been able to synch with iTunes open. iPad and iPhone could not find my MBP when iTunes closed.
