In Apple Mail? No. I only have gmail account setup in Apple mail.
If you meant Mail, Contacts and Cal under preference then yes, it automatically added it for me. But it looks exactly the same as the icloud page, a spinning gear next to the mail & note
I wonder if Apple has already converted my @mac.com address to @me.com. I hope it is not the case because I really don't like my current @mac.com address.

I'm having the same problem
It just keeps spinning and spinning.
I have XXX@mac.com & XXX@me.com as appleid's If I go to manage my id's and sign in as XXX@mac.com it says it say's my appleid is "XXX@mac.com" then I sign out and sign back in with XXX@[B]me[/B].com it says my appleid is XXX@[B]mac[/B].com.
No matter which id is sign into iCloud with it just spins.
It just keeps spinning and spinning.
