View Full Version : Switching From PC to Mac... HOW?

Hey, you might recall that at the last MacWorld Jobs spoke of some software available to help you migrate from PC to Mac.

I have a customer asking about that software but we have no idea what it was called.

Does anyone remember or know of similar software????

What files are we talking about here?
I mean not EVERYthing from a Pc can be used on a Mac...
Just tell me what type of files.

by "software to help you move to a mac" he meant that there is software available for the mac that will read anything you might have saved on your pc (e.g. MS Office for your word documents and powerpoint presentations). as far as music, movies, and pictures go, you just have to copy them over. that move2mac program looks like it just copies your files over (why not just burn them to a cd and copy them with the finder? and please, does it really take days to convert to a mac?).

what you need to do is find out what kind of work your client was doing on his pc (databases, audio recording, word processing, taxes, etc.) and then locate a mac program that can handle the files (filemaker, logic/reason, thinkfree office, quicken, etc.)

Personally, I would not buy a product like that but I know there are a lot of people out there that are so far from being pooter savvy that things like this come in handy
