Syncing MobileMe calendars with iCloud

On one of my three Mac's when I transitioned from using MobileMe to iCloud I checked I wanted to merge my calendar with iCloud. When I merged them every single calendar event was duplicated.

How can I prevent the duplication when I change from MobileMe to iCloud on my other two Macs?
