OK, here's what I'm doing: I'm modyfing the buttons for Safari so they match the Graphite theme. To do that, I'm simply lowering the Saturation of the default buttons (pressed) and the status "bar" by 75% and saving them (in PS7). The originial files are 4kb, while the files that PS saves are 20-40kb.(5-10x more). How does that happen and can I make them any smaller? Also, do I have to use .tifs?

save for web can't save as .tif ... Can use another format then? (gif or jpeg)
