So I went in and setup a handful of text shortcuts, but they won't fill in when I try to type them. I've tried doing it in Mail, Messages and Notes, and they're supposed to work in all apps, Apple or third party.

The only thing I've even occasionally gotten is the standard auto-correct balloon offering to change it to the closest word it knows (homeph, for my home phone number, to humph; eml, for my email address, to Emil).

is there a toggle to turn off shortcuts that I've missed somewhere? Otherwise the only think I can possibly think of is that I deleted Apple's standard 'omw' shortcut when I went into settings to create my custom ones, and I'm wondering if perhaps yanking that out broke it somehow.

Stumped...
