This young man, in line for the iPhone 4S at Apple's Fifth Avenue flagship store, has a unique tribute haircut to Steve Jobs. On one side (http://www.flickr.com/photos/copilotlive/6243999108/in/photostream), Jonathan Mak's Steve Jobs tribute logo (http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/227450/20111007/jonathan-mak-tribute-to-apple-steve-jobs-goes-viral-death-died-dead-pancreatic-cancer-logo-co-founde.htm), and Albert Watson's famous photo of Steve Jobs (http://pdnpulse.com/2011/10/steve-jobs-visionary-inventor-and-very-challenging-photo-subject.html) from Fortune in 2006. On the other (http://www.flickr.com/photos/copilotlive/6243481361/in/photostream), he has Apple's famous "Think Different" slogan emblazoned.

No word on who actually did the impressive cut. The photos (http://www.flickr.com/photos/copilotlive/) were snapped by navigation app maker CoPilot (http://www.copilotlive.com/us/).

Thanks to MacRumors forum member kfury77 (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1251752) for the tip

Update: The artist who did the work was TheJohanRuiz (http://www.facebook.com/TheJohanRuiz)

Better than a tattoo... his hair will grow so he can have his next tribute sculpted into his hair. :)

girls (today) that i know and have dated (and/or admired) LOVE to play with haircuts, hair and the lack thereof...they actually just love to play, to be honest, but in a good way...not sure i could or would go that far to get a bit more attention, and with my luck the hair person might sink the whole idea with a few poorly composed clips and snips...but that stylist... rocks.

That is seriously awesome!!!

Only problem is I don't think I have enough real estate on my head anymore that has hair to carry it off!

Pretty stupid, but seriously good work. It's one of those things you try to criticize but admire on the inside. Pretty cool. Stupid. No cool. Aww damn...it's at least unique. I like the way they did the multiple views.

This is my friend's work. He is by far the most talented hair artist there is. The work is on his brother's head. @thisisprecision is his twitter. You may not like it, you may think it's weird, but, in the end, you cannot help but be impressed.

Well I'm impressed. You need to have some serious talent to do that with a haircut. and who cares if its dumb, his hair will grow back, he can wear a hat or he can just go and get his head shaved.

I agree that I wouldn't have thought that much shading and detail was possible.

I gotta say, I have my doubts that it's real. If it is, that's some hell of a hair stylist. If real, I admire the technique - if not the poor judgement in wearing it.

"a nice tribute"... not so much. IMO, quite tacky.

I can't believe all the negativity in this thread. Wow, relax people. This guy's hair is only going to stay this way for a short time, and he can always shave it shorter to remove the artwork. It's not like this is a permanent tattoo.

I think it's awesome that this guy has enough respect and self-worth to want to stand out and say "this is me. I'm a fanatic". There's nothing wrong with that, because it's based on positive values and shows respect for a great man. Maybe that's just how I see it.

How many of you say this is stupid because you're too chicken to show up in the world?

If you want to see more work, I can find a properly working link that doesn't require you to befriend him on facebook. I think his website is currently under construction.

Article about him from some online news paper:

Nothing besides hair cutting accessories was used.

Also, the person photographed is the barber's brother. Thanks to all that show appreciation. I'll pass on the kind words to Johan.

Wow what's with all the hate talk? This hair cut is amazing, stop being narrow minded and really look at the art work! And so what if some of you think it looks like ghandi , I bet you guys wouldn't even know where to start if you tried doing this hair cut! The kid who got this done isn't an idiot, his hair will grow back in a week. This cut was all for the obvious, attention , duh ! It was clearly a GENIOUS move for johan to make so his career as a barber/hair artist can proceed to greater levels. ILY johan!

This guy needs a life. What a fool!

strikes me as so funny when people take time to make comments about something as transitory as a haircut....although, a couple of people posting here are in my pops age bracket (if he was still alive) and i can see how it could be "waste of time" or "stupid" to them, although friends of my pops that age seem to be totally creative and have, thank God, raised me and their kids in a creative environment, where being willing to play at work is healthy and can lead to fulfilling work environments. like has been said:
living with the results of other people’s thinking = dogma

i'm glad my pops had a free creative spirit. that was his main gift to me.

When I was younger I thought about dying my hair green. I never did it because of my job. I am a professional organist. I am not frustrated or anything. I just thought about once or twice.

I guess, he can do whatever he wants with his hair. I will never pay someone to do that to my son. So, it is very easy. If you paid for his haircut your can whine as much as you want. If you didn't, it is his business.

To those knocking this. Please do not lose sight of the fact the artist is using the hair on someones head as a canvas/medium. No, its not a perfect recreation of Steve Jobs but cut the dude some slack, ITS HAIR on someones fleshy curved head for christ sake!

I hope (if this guy is gay), he asked his boyfriend first. I, personally, would hate be staring into a dead man's eye when I was being intimate. Actually, being straight might be a problem to, if he "goes downtown" on his girlfriend, it might be creepy for SJ to be staring up at her.
