@me to iCloud problems

Hey!

So, i had a .mac/.me account for a couple of years but then stopped paying for it, so i couldn't use it anymore. Then iCloud came so i tired to use my .me adress and it did the switch over wich seemed to work. But now on my phone i can only receive mail but not send on that account.

Does anyone have any idea as to why? I've tried deleting it and re adding but that didn't help.

I think it might be to do with the fact i can still use either .com or .me. Or maybe because i'm not using Lion on my mac yet?
