New Otter Box case

I noticed on their website that they dont ask if you have the Verizon or AT&T iPhone 4s. Are both phones identical? I know the iPhone 4 had slight differences between AT&T and Verizon.

Both are identical.
 
I'd suggest getting your Otterbox from Amazon.com though, much cheaper. I got two of the Universal Defender cases and they fit fine and I paid like $24 each for them and free shipping.

Only problem is Amazon is selling out of all of their cases fast. The good cases that is.
 
They are not identical, so sick of people giving false info. The camera openings on the new cases are larger.

Aren't the 4S phones all the same, though? The 4 is different, but aren't all 4S phones built the same way?

I have a new Otter Box case for iPhone 4 but the vibrate switch is stuck because the case butts up against it. Have you checked the vibrate switch on yours? I ordered a new case from otter box because the iPhone 4 case almost broke off the switch.

I am asking about the phone, not the case. The two cases are obviously different.

Amazon doesn't have the 4S case, I looked.
 
Basically the universal otter box case for iPhone 4 is not fitting my 4S. The vibrate switch almost broke off when I tried to move it. I ordered a new 4S defender case hoping that it will not impede the vibrate switch. Is anybody else noticing this with their iPhone 4 defender case? Maybe the one I bought is defective or something.
 
my old otterbox defender works perfectly. The vibrator is a little close to edge of the case but there is just enough room for it to work perfectly. $60 vs $16...

Everyone saying the case fits perfectly is wrong. The 4s is slightly thinner than the 4. I got an otter defender case yesterday and while it fits, the 4s is loose in the case. Yes, it could work, but it's not acceptable to me.
 
I have an Otterbox case for my iPhone 4 (CDMA, so it would fit the 4S as well), and while it would offer good protection, I say stay away. I don't even use it anymore. I bought it from Amazon (not a third party), and I've had the silicone part replaced 3 times already in ~4-5 months because it gets so loose and floppy. I don't remove it or anything, but it loosens up on its own. Terrible stuff, IMO.
 
I just bought an iPhone 4 Commuter series case for my Verizon 4S. It fits perfectly, nothing is out of place. Camera openings fit perfectly around the lens, volume buttons are spot on, ringer switch is fully exposed, pieces fit snugly in headphone jack/32-pin connector. It's as if it were designed for a 4S all along!

Funny how Otterbox said this case wouldn't fit the 4S. They just didn't want people buying cheaper iP4 cases off Amazon instead of the full priced iP4S versions on their website 😉

I observed same issue last night, You don't need new case, just use Dremel/file to trim plastic peice on bottom half close to vibrate switch.

Wrong. Would you care to change your tune? Specs, directly off Apple's website. The only spec that is different, besides the mute switch being lower on the 4S than the GSM iPhone 4, is the 4S is slightly heavier.

iPhone 4S:
Height: 4.5 inches (115.2 mm)
Width: 2.31 inches (58.6 mm)
Depth: 0.37 inch (9.3 mm)
Weight: 4.9 ounces (140 grams)

iPhone 4:
Height: 4.5 inches (115.2 mm)
Width: 2.31 inches (58.6 mm)
Depth: 0.37 inch (9.3 mm)
Weight: 4.8 ounces (137 grams)
 
I got the otterbox commuter for 25 bucks on outfityours.com

It was cool too cause they sent me a dollar with it to 'bribe' me to tell others

got mine in white and black...gotta represent that ska!

That's the old style defender. The newer one is much nicer. On the old one with the white iPhone I had to remove the plastic over the proximity sensor for it to work.

Also the new defender is made out of a different material. Much more plastic feeling then the older rubber ones. The only place that I've actually seen the new cases are at&t. I checked best buy, walmart etc etc and they have the older model.
