In the market for a new powermac, which I will probably keep for a couple of years.
The choice is:
G5 2.3 - £1699
G5 2.0 - £1249 (the old model with 8 memory slots and PCI-X)
G5 2.0 - £1460 (old model) with 5 year warranty (parts and labour)
With the 2.0 I would probably want to upgrade the video card at some point.
Bearing in mind that I may well want to sell it in 2 years or so, what do you think represents the best value? How much would the extra warranty add to the resale value?
