Well it's anti-glare so it certainly effects the clarity of the screen some. However, it's about the only screen shield that installs 100% bubble free each and every time.

Wonder why they don't make the the crystal clear one.

I got one of these when I picked up my 4S and while I can't speak about durability (since I just got it) the installation ROCKED.
30 seconds, bubble free. First time I've ever made an installation perfect on the first try with one of these #$%*& things :)
