itunes wont stop making me restore!

recently i pluged my iphone 4S into my compter and it asked me to set up at new or restore from back up ever time i restore from it reverts back to same thing over and over
any advice?
with it pluged in i go into setting and click sync and it makes me a new back up in itunes
