Well, it had to be done. Two Siris talking to each other. But even at this early stage of Siri's development, all it takes is for someone to leave 2 Siris lying around and accidentally activate them and press their buttons at the right time in order to let them speak to each other.. and the consequences can be dire. The outcome could get someone fired. The actual back and forth starts about 23 seconds into the video.

Update: Based on the antenna bands these are not 4S units. So, seems like it may have been staged/fake?

Silly, staged prank.

If we scrape the barrel with this Siri stuff much more we'll hit concrete!

Totally. It's pretty obvious that edited lines together from various attempts to make this funnier. Or try to. :) The audio quality of each phone changes noticeably between lines.

It could be more funnier for an edited fake.

Hah, I hope that's fake; otherwise it highlights how random Siri's responses are.

It reminds me of the time I noticed my Mac's screen would wake from sleep randomly and seem to start doing things. I eventually realised the problem was the Mac's speech recognition was replying to the TV. If someone on TV said "We don't have time..." the Mac would respond "It's 9:15".

I think getting Siri to talk to each other in reality would be a bit difficult, as while one is "thinking" the other will stop listening. So it would require a bit of manual effort.

A+ Reporting here, MacRumors. As usual.

anyone who has used siri for more than 2 minutes could tell that was completely fake from the second line.

Why would you point the screens at each other? It's like it's fake AND they don't even grasp the concept of where the mic and speakers are.

and the saddest part? two siri's talking to each other (ps. they can't) would be more entertaining than that video

If Siri had been voiced by GLaDOS, I would've upgraded.

It's clear that they are both iPhone 4. But either Siri is actually running on them or the editing is spectacular. You can see the screens reflecting one another and in some cases, when they show the screen, you can read waht Siri is saying.

If Siri had been voiced by GLaDOS, I would've upgraded.

Being able to choose different SIRI voices would have been a nice touch (without having to also choose which language it listens in.)

I would like to have a british female voice recognizing american english. (My wife is british, it would be nice to pretend bossing her around)

Since this one is fake, I just might try to make a real one. :D

That was clearly fake. This - two chatbots having a convo - (which made the rounds a few weeks back) is supposed to be quite real:

Seriously if you can't tell that from the difference in tone, it's a sample of recordings they've found and pieced together to make this...

Which begs the question, why did MacRumors even post this.

I half expected this to be a post by Jordan, but was shocked to see it was Arn. I appreciate that Siri is the talk of the town at the moment, but I expect MacRumors to at least think and evaluate before posting something like this.

It sounds like the voices from one of those horrible "If you can type, you can make a movie" videos.

I agree. MacRumors really need to think about what they are report on. A lot of their articles these days are far from professional.

Less about page views and more about quality of articles I think.
