Siri won't read my messages

Can't get Siri to read my messages. When I ask her to read my new message she tells me that I have a new message but doesn't read it, then tells my that I can reply or ask her to read it again. On my wife's phone she reads the messages without any problems. Don't know what the issue is.

I had the same thing. Took me a day to figure it out. First, this will happen if you have text message previews turned off as well as the phone being locked at the time the text message comes through. You can either unlock the phone and then ask Siri to read it, or turn on the preview feature of the message and Siri will read it while the phone is locked.
