What utilities are used? I'll bench mine tonight and post the results.

I dont know anything aobut how to run benchmarks, but if someone could run theirs and make sure it is not in "power save mode", that would be awesome.

The Xbench website has some of the new iMacs.

http://ladd.dyndns.org/xbench/ -> iMac (Flat Panel)
click on the Processor column header to get the new 2GHz machines at the top.

One thing I've noticed is that all but one of the 2GHz iMacs has significantly slower memory transfer speeds than all of the rev a iMacs that I checked. The one faster one was Necessary's iMac G5 20". Could be 1x1GB ram vs. 2x512MB ram.

Quartz 2D Extreme Rocks!

Obviously, the Rev. B iMac 2.0 GHz test I looked over didn't have Quartz 2D Extreme enabled. My Rev. A 1.8 GHz iMac performed MUCH better on the Quartz test (and has a much weaker graphics card).

I truly didn't realize how big of a difference Quartz 2D Extreme made until now. Impressive. I'm also impressed that a 200 MHz (66 MHz FSB) higher clock speed would make such a marked improvement in CPU scores.

The Rev. B appears to be a real winner. It's kind of sad knowing that my Rev. A isn't the fastest on the block anymore, but I don't feel compelled in any way to go out and purchase the latest and greatest. My G5 is no slower today than it was before the Rev. B's came out. It's a G5...it's still blazing fast! :D
