ibook - $925

those include other retailers other than apple as well and are from the MR buyers guide

Nope, thats Apple for ya. There are going to charge the same price even though the machine is over 6 months old.

You know what though, they ought to drop the price to 899 on the iBook and make Apple's mobile platform more affordable.

Yeah, it's been 6 months, time to drop the price or give us the damn update...
