yes, there is probably already a thread on this, but perhaps there is new info now... Are third party visulizations available for itunes. My brother's PC has a great visualization that models the laws of physics. Come on Apple...

There are all kinds of third-party visualizations available, G-Force, JewelCase, and White Cap, just to name a few.

I use G-Force also, the others were too slow.

I just like the simple JewelCase. Rotating CD case of the album art on the front. The others just have to much of a rave feel to me.

I definitely prefer Whitecap. It has all kinds of really cool patterns and such, as opposed to the regular pulsating colors.

I really like G-Force for two reasons: 1) because it's different and 2) because it also comes with a separate app that will visualize the sound coming in through the line in jack.

If you don't mind paying $8 (I think) there is EyephedrineFX (sp?) which uses OpenGl and was really cool and smooth on my Mini. If you don't pay then it flashes some annoying message in the middle of the screen from time to time.

Most of them should work fine with iTunes 4.8. You can search for them over at MacUpdate.com (http://macupdate.com). My favourite is the lovely JewelCase (http://macupdate.com/info.php/id/16699) :)
