To follow up this story (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=109972) from February, comes another squirrel story, this time from the Register (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/05/11/squirrels_bt/):Squirrels blamed for gnawing through BT phone line

A BT engineer has blamed squirrels for gnawing through phone cables cutting off a Berkshire couple.
John and Christina Gaff from Finchampstead told Get Wokingham that they have been without a phone service for eight weeks. When a BT engineer finally came round to sort out the problem he told them squirrels had nibbled through their line.
It seems that squirrels like the taste of BT's cables.
However, a spokeswoman for BT told the paper that there was "no indication that squirrels were to blame".
Hmmm, so which is it? The Gaffs - and El Reg's - readers need to know. ŽI must say British squirrels seems a bit odder than the Norwegian ones... ;)

Well, they're certainly hungrier. ;)
We get pretty similar problems with possums down here. :(

Judging from this (http://www.compfused.com/directlink/762/) it's more than the possums you have to worry about, or even those dang baby hungry dingos!!  :p

We have squirrels climb into transformer boxes here all the time.
Normally, you see a big blue flash on the horizon, and then half the city goes dark.
Poor little critters.

Luckily the fox population keeps the squirrels in check around here, so they're not a problem.
Although I've had landscapers lop through my cable line twice now. Nothing like being in the middle of something online only to find yourself without service.

i bet, did that snake survive though? i thought that would be a bit too big for a snake that size......
thats still mind boggling.....

I'd think the snake would be in more danger from other animals than from indigestion, although I'm not sure! I can't really imagine the snake crawling away after swallowing that behemoth, so basically it just ends up being a fat lump laid out in the open...at least it went out in a blaze of glory! :p

If I may, "Jesus Christ!" (Monty Python, The Holy Grail)
Wonder what the size of the Kangaroo was? It looks like a youngster. And imagine all those people with boa constrictors in their houses. I hope no little kid is in the wrong place at the wrong time.

i've heard the snake's bones is not located in one place and they can move so they can swallow bigger animals... as far as their skin allow them, of course... poor kangaroo... it'll take a while to disgest it though

You know, when I first read the title of this thread I was very confused. I had the impression that the squirrels were on strike... :o :D
