I'm a new doctor starting my first clinic and I'm looking at practice management software. I found a free program on VersionTracker which struck me as a little odd. Software like this usually costs thousands of dollars but this one is free. I don't know much about the nuts and bolts of OS X so would you please have a look at the quicktime installation video that this guy has on his site? You have to do some stuff with terminal that I don't understand. My concern is that the program will somehow take over the system, force an upgrade, or be a source of ID theft. What do you think? I know little about programming. Why is the install procedure so extensive?

Here is the link:

Click on the Download Now link and it will take you to his website. Skip the email screen and download the quicktime video called "Life Record Installation Video"

Thanks.
