iPod touch reattaching cables to replacement screen on iPod touch 4g

Hi

I bought a kit to replace the screen for an iPod Touch 4g with a cracked screen.

I followed the ifixit instructions, and the unit is disassembled, but I can't successfully reconnect the digitiser cable.

Any tips on how to reconnect it? It seems difficult to line it up with the socket.
