Hi all,
I am new to MAC world. Till now i was using windows ( And still using.. ) . i have canon MF printer, and in windows i am using Omnipage Professional 17 tool to scan my docs. thru my canon printer.

Now, in MAC is there any scanning Native OS tool available thru i can scan documents via my canon printer and save quickly to PDF ?

In windows , i can use my Document Feader to feed 10-15 page and scan those in less then 1 min. and save to PDF.

I really need this funcationality in MAC. please help.

I found out that there is OmniPaage X for MAC . but its expensive. and i already have widows version. and I am not looking to buy.

Any suggestions will be appreciated..

I don't know if it works with your Canon printer, but Preview supports scanning with many scanners directly in Lion. Open Preview, go to the File menu, and choose "Import from Scanner...". If your Canon scanner doesn't show up, go to the Canon website and see if there's software drivers to download and install. They also probably have some sort of software tool to accomplish it, although if Preview works with it, it'll be simpler.

The included Image Capture application worked perfectly for this and will save as a PDF. I use it with my Canon MF.

Do you mean ? "Preview" ?
Also , Can you use Document feader ? i mean, can you keep all 5 paper togather and , can it scan all 5 in one shot ? or you manually change paper 5 times ?

Many printer drivers for mfd's allow scanning. Brother, for example. Easy as pie. Don't know about Canon. Open up the printer out of system preferences and see.

No... I mean the Image Capture application.

Here is what it looks like running with my Canon MP495 MF and the default Lion drivers. I installed nothing from Canon.

There is a check box to combine multiple scans into one document.

Preview comes with all Macs and should be in your applications folder.

And check at Canon's website for Mac software for your MFP; it might have some stuff you can use.

And we are assuming you are not using OCR on your scanned documents; Preview doesn't do that.
