Luckily 'e indoors and lil' daughter are off to Cardiff for the w/e so I'll be catching up on Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Doom3, Halo 2, Riddick, TOCA2, Burnout 3 etc etc. As soon as theres a modchip for the 360 you can count me in. :D

I'll watch it, but I've already read a lot of leaked stuff about the xbox 360 and I've seen the leaked pictures, so I don't know how much I'll be surprised by.

But, I still have my TiVo set to record it, and I'll watch it when it's on, anyway... I hope it's impressive :D

It's not that affordable when you have to pay for it yourself. I had to make the decision between TV and internet, and well...the choice is kinda obvious.

Crap they were bad you mean. Some were nice, yes. But...Perfect Dark Zero? Weaker than Halo 2 graphics!

Madden was extremely impressive, but Tiger Woods? The terrain looked like an N64 game.

I guess what some people said was right.. It wasn't going to be as much about better graphics and such as it was going to be about extra content, both ingame and not, that can be had for a price.

They'll build a community, but as we know with Microsoft - it won't be free!

The three processors @ 3,2 GHz are obviesly just to hype things up a bit, but in reality it doesn't provide much better graphics or games than the 800 MHz processor in XBox 1. :eek:

Or they could be still developing the games and MS pushed the games they had so far out to show it off and they probably not complete. Its slated to some over november so I don't see why they would fully complete games yet for it.
btw teh xbox uses a 733mhz cpu

I got dizzy watching the MTV show. Too tightly edited.

When they presented the Xbox with the lady walking up to the podium to unveil the XBox from the briefcase, my attention was focused more on her behind than the actual console. :p I guess its the editing and camera angle.

I was really impressed with the box. It lookes awsome and the games looked amazing, especially PGR2 and Ghost Recon 3. Madden also looked insane.

After a 14 hour work day I just happened to come home right when the MTV special (infomercial) started.

A solid "meh." The editing and shots of the games were too quick to really get much out of them. Sure, they looked good but nothing absolutely floored me (Madden looked impressive).

The unit was much "whiter" than I expected. Skinning is cool, yet not technically impressive.
Found it funny how they made a big deal of the woman carrying the Xbox with ease, clearly a jab at how the first one was a child crushing hazard! :D
Very few details revealed in the infomercial. Many websites are giving the real scoop today. Unfortunately my work blocks a lot of those sites so I can't share them. An article at 1UP got me excited.

In short, infomercial pretty lame. Xbox 360 sounds pretty cool, but only because I went out of my way to find information on it. Microsoft did a very poor job of "selling" the unit to me, their target audience I'd wager. We'll see come the holiday season if it lives up to the hype!

Killers were very cool, though. ;)

Really, I don't give a damn what 'Omarion' thinks is cool. I'm not interested in 'X-TREME EDITING' and flashing lights. The fact that second-rate 'celebrities' are playing a choppy-looking Alpha of 'Perfect Dark Zero' does not give me a hard on. What I wanted to know was:

1) How much?
2) When?
3) Halo 2.5?
4) Bigger HDD upgrade (40-80GB?)
5) TiVo capabilities?
6) Corded controllers available at all?
7) Backwards compatibility?
8) Free online play for games? (turns out - 'only on weekends', aka 'lame')
9) Streaming server compatible with a mac? (probably not without modding)
10) Did they realize '360' meant when the named the thing - or did they just pick something with '3' in it to sound like the PS3?

Everything they showed last night (the system / a handful of screens) were available on the internet for about three days prior. I had a gut instinct telling me, 'don't watch, don't watch' - but I assumed - since XBOX.com was hyping it so much, that it might be a real / non-MTV event. I figured Bill Gates would stand at a podium and they'd talk about cool (nerdy) stuff...

Guess that's what E3 is for.

In short - that was the most worthless half-hour of television, ever. I'm glad I stopped playing 'God of War' for that...

10) Did they realize '360' meant when the named the thing - or did they just pick something with '3' in it to sound like the PS3?A little of the latter, I suspect, but as I read more interviews and such its becoming clear that the "360" moniker refers to the circular, all-encompassing comunitity they plan to make with Live. The "circle of power" on the front of the unit that lights up in different quadrants to give you feedback plus the button on the controller that you "roll" in different directions to move the UI (like a trackball?). It's somewhat zen-like when you think about it.

So, yea, still something of a lame name but it's starting to make a bit of sense now.

Some musak from various bands, one looking very much like Gary Numan, am I that old?? Where was the footage ffs? thank god it'd taped it rather than watch it 'live', what a waste of 30 minutes of my life that would have been. Hail SKY+ and its fast forward. Lets hope it gets better Billyboy or else Sony will be laughing all the way to the bank.
