Ipod touch and IOS5

which one? IOS5 was made/designed/optomized for devices with a dual core A5 or 256mb of ram. It likely would have to little ram.
Mine is the 3rd generation. So it's too old to support the IOS5?

Appreciate the info. Might need to upgrade. But my 3rd gen. is still perfectly good. Will I still be able to download movies/shows/musci from itunes?

It certainly isn't a 5th generation as that is still in the Apple labs.
Apple says right on this page that the 3rd & 4th generation iPod touches are supported.
Oh ok, I guess I was assuming that that iPod Touch and the iPhone had the same amount of revisions. My bad.
8gb? if its 8gb its basically a 2nd gen but if you have 32 or 64 then it should support it.
It isn't a matter of 'disk' space. A 3rd generation iPod touch runs iOS 5. Period.
Ah. Sure. But the conversation was if the 3rd generation runs iOS 5. Throwing in the 8GB comment is irrelevant unless their is some detail I'm misunderstanding about that link I gave regarding support for the 3rd gen.
