iPod touch Wireless sync - manually managing music

Is there any reason to use wireless sync if I am manually managing the music on my iPod? What I usually do is to connect the iPod and add new music to a "New Music" playlist on the iPod; I also add new podcasts to another playlist. This seems most easily done with the "old" sync method. Would the new wireless sync feature be useful at all if this is what I'm doing?
