Anybody else's MBA scratched heavily near the MagSafe power connector?

While the rest of my MBA is pristine even after owning it for 7 months, the area around my MagSafe connector is pretty beat up. Some areas have even turned black. Anybody else have the same issue on their Air? Is there a way to clean that area if it can even be cleaned?

Isn't that just because you "missed" the connector when you tried to connect it. If you know what I mean. Like there are scratches next to the key whole in a car.
