Is this the "next" big thing? I think some of em are pretty unique.. Like Nek and long timer Eros Ramazzotti.. still though, they have rather questionable lyrics when you break their songs down...

I love the techno remixes of NEK, but I wouldn't call him rock. I'd say both those guys you mentioned are pop. And why would they be the next big thing? I mean I did burn a CD of italian music for a bunch of classmates who hadn't heard of them. Is it really spreading that fast? :)
Edit: Oh, and by questionable lyrics, I'm guessing CubaTBird means they're not that deep or anything.

Lacuna Coil f'in' rocks. I don't think they will ever be huge in the States though (although they were on Ozfest last year). Europe, for whatever reason, has a much broader, and popular, heavy metal scene than the US does.

I spent several months in Rome last spring and, while I have been able to satisfy most cravings for the Italian music that I loved during my brief tenure, I must say there is one gaping hole. There was this song, I guess you could call it rock, that featured a predominant horn part and had a video that took place in a desert setting and at some point involved a cemetery of some sort. Any ideas? This has been killing me for almost year.
