I have a laptop that has a problem with the lcd. The lcd is brand new because it was recently replaced. I began to see lines through the display (horizontal) and eventually it would get bad enough to where the screnn would screw up completely. Now I have no video, I can sometimes see text and graphics put through the small lines that may randomly appear. The LCDs backlight does turn on.

The confusing part is that the video out works beautifully and I checked all the wires for loose connections.

Could this be an inverter issue or something else?

Thanks.

It's almost certainly a damaged LCD connector cable. I've seen this several times and that was always the cause. Perhaps someone else knows better...

What kind of laptop? There was a pretty serious problem with one of the last rounds of the G3 iBook involving the video card going kaput.

....and my gosh you were right. :p ;) I went back in it, twisted, turned, snugged, and jabbled cables until the video came back to normal.

Thanks rainman.
