confused with .mac and .me email

so i used to have a .mac address but that changed to .me but when i set up icloud with my apple id its coming up as .mac and i am unable to send any emails even though it says in the settings everythibg is set up fine, whenever i try to send one it says the sender address was rejected by the server, how can i change the actual email address to .me instead as in the settings on the phone that bit is greyed out??


I just went into icloud on my mac and everything works perfect to it must be a setting somewhere on the phone, driving me nuts

i set up another alias and it seems to be working !!!!!
