Not too sure if many of you will care as I don't particularly myself, I received this email from square-enix earlier:
SQUARE ENIX LAUNCHES FINAL FANTASY® SOUNDTRACKS ON ITUNES®
Square Enix announced today the availability of sixteen FINAL FANTASY soundtracks on the iTunes Music Store.
This is the first time any of the soundtracks from the acclaimed videogame series will be sold in the United States, and the first time original game soundtracks will be available on the iTunes Music Store.
The dedicated FINAL FANTASY page on the iTunes Music Store will feature music from FINAL FANTASY I through XI, Music from Dear Friends, and two Black Mages albums.
For more information visit http://na.square-enix.com/music/tunes/
Seems like something new for iTMS, music from a video game.

some are greater than 200kbps, some aren't. they are variable encoded, average I would say is 190

It's nice to see iTunes bridge out, but I was kind of disappointed that the Faye Wong and other vocal songs from the Final Fantasy series weren't in there. I have a *ahem* copy of Eyes on Me (well, I do own FF8  ), but I would gladly pay for a cleaner copy than the one I have. Such a sweet song.

I agree with mkrishnan; there was some really good stuff they were missing. Especially with the FFX-2 stuff. The song "Real Emotion" and "1000 Words" (particular the Japanese versions) are super.

Oooh, I haven't played any FF's since 8. I should check this stuff out. :)

Awesome! Final Fantasy are known for their great music.
I hope this leads to Castlevania songs in iTMS! I'll buy them in a snap!

mkrishnan, if you mean pick up ffx-2 the game, don't bother. I purchased it and it was a total waste of my time and money.
Now if iTMS ever put up the Vagrant Story OST I'll be interested as I can't find that album anywhere. If any of you are wondering I'd say it sounds like a mix of Final Fantasy and Resident Evil music. The site snkTab mentioned has some of it.
You could also check it out at xenogamer.com which a friend of mine runs, I was going to mention it in my first post but it's not compatible with Mac. If anyone has any idea on how to fix it if you happen to check it out let me know, I've tried to help him get it working in the past.

Oh, don't worry, I don't think I have the patience to finish a Final Fantasy game atm. :D I could use a new Gameboy fixation though.... No! *snaps out of it* Must concentrate on photography (and, oh, grad school  ) and not gameboy.
I did mean the songs. I want more JPop on iTunes!!!! :D
The site design on your friend's Xeno-site is very nice! :) I really like the style. I saw what you mean about the music though. You get to the point where the javascript tries to pop up the php file, and then firefox for me forces me to download or save the php.... :( Not sure why or what to do about it, sadly. :(

You don't need to pay for it, you can rip it with iTunes - it's a standard audio track on CD 3 (I have the UK version, presumably the US version is like this too).

Oooh, really? I don't have the FF8 cds here (they're in boxes in storage) but when I get at them next, I will definitely give this a try! Thanks! :)
