View Full Version : Is anyone else seeing this Blue Error Image box? (only on Newbie posts)

Nov 6, 2011, 09:07 PM
When a newbie posts a new Thread or Replies to a comment, I've been noticing this Blue Error box that links to a website with a .gif at the end of the link.

But that error box doesn't last long, it does go away but when quoted, you can see the link is still there. I'm wondering if this is the same thing that I posted about several weeks ago with Spammers using Smily Emotions.

Whats with newbies and this Smiley Emoticon?

Just wondering if they're related.

When Quoted, this is what you see

"I know we're to download this app but when I try to sync it to my iPod touch 4g iOS 5 from iTunes it says it can't beverified I [ url = http: //www .uklv. info/g. php] Image [/url] need to know how to do it without a jailbreak any ideas"

(I broke up the link in bold)

The poster is a spammer, just report it to the mods.

Yes, these are spammers who use those invisible images to get traffic to their site. They're getting more advanced and now even embedding the images into quotes of others' posts. Please report any of these you see, so we can get rid of them quickly.

That's what I thought, thanks,

I just wanted to verify before I start reporting these post.

When reporting, how do I identify the post? just as spam, or something else...

Spam is good and if you want to be more detailed you can say spam with tracking image.

These spammers are now starting to add their links to inside quotes

The blue box link leads to http : //www .delawareairlines. com/ smile. png

Yeah they are sneaky and have worked out that this is less likely for people to spot them.

When you see them please report them and we will sort them out. It is a rather annoying problem and thanks to all those who do report the posts it is a big help.

"Delaware Airlines"? I lived in Delaware for the past fifteen years and I can tell you that it's the only state in the Union today that doesn't have regularly scheduled passenger airline service.
