CompUSA is clearning out their old iMacs to make room for the new ones.
Here's the specs

17" LCD Screen
80GB hard drive
256MB RAM (I'd upgrade to 768)
600mhz FSB
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra (64MB DDR)
Single layer SuperDrive (4x???)

Do you think that's worth the price or should I use my Edu discount to get the 2.0Ghz for $1399. I'd like to save some money and will be using it to make a few iMovie's/burning a few DVD's.

Thanks!

The Recon goes for $999, the new one $1199 and you get more with it.

That looks fantastic! Thanks! Stupid questions probably, but what's the difference between reconditioned and refurbished? Is it just terminology? Will this one look new and be in good condition? Think it'll come with X.4?

Thanks. I'll probably get that one!

If it doesn't have the bad capacitors, has Tiger/iLife '05 and compares to Apple's price, sounds good.

Yes just the terminology, the recon as far as I know will look like new and has been tested also. As far as Tiger you will have to ask Apple just to make sure (call about it don't e-mail). Just remember that the recons are the rev. A iMacs but if you don't mind you can save some $$
