Wow! Wonder how Apple will react to this! (Hopefully they won't file some lawsuit! :p )

Well, considering Apple lets you run widgets in *Safari* in Panther (and even with transparent borders in 10.3.9 and Safari 1.3), hopefully they won't mind too much. I somehow doubt the impact of this as an excuse to not get Tiger will be nearly as great as the positive impact on widget development...it sounds like it will be a really nice add for developers! :)

i downloaded it and they still need to improve on it SOOOOOOO much. doesn't work as smooth as i think it should, but then again i am using a 400mhz G4, will try later with dual 800 at home. any one else trid it out?

Many, many Widgets will not run properly in this application, ie, Widgets that require the use of the JavaScript-to-Objective-C bridge, as well as Widgets that make use of CoreImage.

Thats so cool. Unfortunately the most useful widgets are those that apple makes. Most of the third party ones are just fun things. I really useful one I found though was the package tracker.

Actually, the JavaScript-to-Objective-C bridge is supported by Amnesty Widget Browser on Panther (a good example is MenuMeters). In fact, most third-party widgets appear to work fine, although we're always on the lookout for those that aren't supported. Let us know if you find one that's not in the Known Issues list. So far so good for me too!
I really like the Konfabulator widgets, so I'm debating purchasing that instead. I don't know which takes more processing power. Anyone out there who knows?
