I'm looking to buy an external DVD Burner to go along with my 14'' iBook. I wouldn't like to spend too much, maybe a hundred or so? Anyone got a reccomendation?

LaCie currently has a reconditioned 16x d2-style double layer external DVD burner for $105 on their site (http://www.lacie.com/products/clearance/products/?id=10008).

I have numerous d2 drives and the 16x d2 burner and love them all. You cannot go wrong with LaCie.

I bought one from LaCie (recon) see my sig. and it has worked like a champ :D Also I use Verbatium and TDK and seem to get the 16x burn speeds from the drive (I have timed the burns). It has the Nec drive in it, the 3500 which is said to be very good. Enjoy

I just bought an internal burner and put it in a box. It's not everyone's thing, especially if you want portability, but its quiter and it works for me.
