A Norwegian paper is running a series with the best music videos ever. Of course they don't necessarily mean best from a musical or even artistic point of view.

You find this weeks entry here (http://www.zeronews-fr.com/flash/electronik_supersonik.php)... it's quite indescribable... :D

Edit: This one (http://fnarg.com/floppy.html) should also be a strong warning against computer game piracy... :D

I like that QOTSA video thanx for the link.
The Chemical Brothers, Radiohead, Bjork and Aphex Twin also have great videos. Where can you find music videos. Where did u find the QOTSA one?

Thanx. Another stupid question. How do I download them onto my PB for viewing offline. Can't find a way to do it - only allows me to view them through iTunes. Maybe because I don't have an account bec Australia doesn't have iTMS yet - im viewing the US iTMS.

That's the tricky bit ;)

I believe that there are apps that will do this for you, but here's how I do it (warning: technical!)

- go to the iTunes page where it asks for small or large
- open Terminal
- sudo tcpdump -i en0 -s 1500 -w file (where file is anything you like)
- click Large in iTunes
- wait for the embedded QuickTime player to load
- quit iTunes
- control-C out of tcpdump
- open file in TextEdit
- search for .mov
- copy file's address into a downloader (I use Download Wizard)

You get all that?

How on earth did u figure that out!?!? when you say file do you mean http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewVideo?videoId=997479&videoIndex=2 for the Go with the Flow by QOTSA? When I do that I get:

We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System
Administrator. It usually boils down to these two things:

#1) Respect the privacy of others.
#2) Think before you type.

For file, just put anything you want. I usually just mash the keyboard. :) It'll make a file in your home folder with the same name.

Yeah, you'll need to put in your password because tcpdump captures everything going through your network port, regardless of who it belongs to.

How on earth did u figure that out!?!?

Patience and practice :)

I don't remember exactly when iTMS first came out (early 2003), but my oldest videos were downloaded on 29/4/03. So, with a bit of research, you could figure out how long it took me.

...or install wget (http://radio.javaranch.com/bear/2005/03/02/1109829480523.html) (this is wget for terminal, but I think you can get nice graphical frontends for it).

Works like a charm when you get a nice http or ftp protocoled link to whatever you want to download:

Yeah thats scary. But his video for "Come To Daddy" is by far the most scaryist video clip I have ever seen. In Australia we have a music video show called "Rage" which runs on Friday and Saturday nights from about 11pm to 6am. U often see the Come To Daddy video on there at about 1-2am and it scares the ba-jebez out of you!

Come to Daddy by Aphex Twin freaked me out the first time I saw it. Then the second time wasn't so bad, but still probably the scaryist music video I've ever seen. I've never watched it at 1 am, I bet it's worse.
